How sweet are these two?!!

For Caitlin & Timm’s engagement session, we met at the home where she grew up in Portola Valley, and where they both still spend time with her family. It’s clear that there is a lot of love in this home, and it’s a beautiful, peaceful space. A perfect place for their session. These two are so at ease together, and I so enjoyed spending time getting to know them a bit better. I’m really looking forward to their wedding at Villa Montalvo next summer! I adore Style Me Pretty for all things wedding! SO much so, I have to limit my time during each visit, or I’ll suddenly find hours have passed without my noticing!!!

So it’s such a pleasure to see Katie & Lee’s wedding featured this week on their Little Black Book blog! Artfully planned by Amy Nichols Special Events, with an iconic, San Francisco-inspired theme, Katie & Lee’s wedding was absolutely stunning with gorgeous contributions from each of their vendors. I still can’t get over the invitation & print designs by Design des Troy & florals by Soulflower Floral Design – just beautiful! There are so many things that jumped out at me while I was editing Katie & Lee’s images. But the first image below, probably sums it up for me. Such joy and love on their wedding day – who could resist a smile looking at that image?

Other parts that I loved about Katie & Lee’s wedding?

The jaw-droppingly gorgeous locations – it felt like a gift to be attending a wedding at the San Francisco Ferry Building – an amazing piece of beauty & history! Katie’s customized wedding dress hanger! The beautiful blues & greens carried throughout the wedding. The amazing graphic design that iconized the San Francisco elements on all of their printed materials from the save the date & to table names & escort cards at the reception. The elegant effect of all white bouquets the bridesmaids carried. The gorgeous bouquet Katie carried of all the combined white blooms. I loved that the guests were all transported from hotel, to the church to the reception in a classic cable cars. The fierce love their family and friends clearly felt for these two – I loved Katie’s sister’s speech & the best man’s speech about Lee’s fighting skills as a teenager – seriously funny! Tainted Love – these folks seriously rocked it!

It was a wedding that even in it’s incredible beauty, invited you to share the moment. We went a little crazy taking pictures I have to admit – so many beautiful moments to capture! Here are just a few favorites from the day or view their slideshow for more!

As soon as I met Katie & David, I knew I was going to LOVE photographing their wedding. Before I even start to enumerate a long list… I have to mention that they were referred by David’s brother and his lovely wife April, when I photographed them expecting their first child & then his newborn & extended family portraits! Soooo sweet. Really folks, this is exactly why I started photographing in the first place. This whole story, and interconnectedness of family, is really what it’s all about for me. I can’t believe I’m so lucky to be a part of capturing this for families. It’s humbling and wonderful.

And even had I never had an inkling of David & Katie, they would have won me over from the first hint of their story. First of all… they met swing dancing… hello romantic!!! Which meant music & dancing was to play a big role in their wedding day… of course! AND they are only half-teasing when they say they are going to buy a tandem bike!!! It’s pretty impossible not to grin from ear to ear when spending time around these two. They are perfectly matched and so much fun to capture. Their wedding was gorgeous and heartfelt, and these two seriously WOWed with their first dance – incredible!!! I only hope the images do it justice!

Katie & David were married at the lovely St. Helena Catholic Church & their reception followed at the beautiful Charles Krug Winery Carriage House. Such gorgeous locations! Amy Thumhart of Thumhart Event Consulting, did a wonderful job of infusing the event with a warm, elegant & easy-going flow. The catering was both beautiful & delicious, and was provided by Elaine Bell Catering, and the floral design provided by Valley Flora was simply stunning. To top off the stellar list of vendors, Katie & David’s favorite band, Stompy Jones, delivered the incredible soundtrack for the evening.

So, I bawled my eyes out when I put together this slideshow. Because you see, that handsome guy is my big brother. And that gorgeous, full of love gal, is going to be a part of my family!!! I am so honored to be capturing Dave & Elisha’s sure to be gorgeous wedding day this summer at the Castle Green in Pasadena. And I am just filled up with happiness to see Davey so incredibly happy. Elisha is truly wonderful and as you can see, these two were meant for one another. They compliment each other perfectly, and I love, love, love the way they make each other laugh. It’s impossible not to smile when you are with them. I double-triple-double-dare you to try to even try it!!!

Vintners Inn in Santa Rosa was a perfect setting for Gabrielle & Anthony’s wedding. Surrounded by vineyards, with a gorgeous ceremony site & beautifully arranged reception area, it was a perfect space for a wedding that was just radiant with love. Spending time with Gabrielle & Anthony, it’s so clear that they both cherish and are cherished. It makes me smile just to think of it. And spending time at their wedding, you could see that their parents, siblings, family & friends had supported & fed the love these two have to give. It was beautiful and inspiring to be around. And so much fun to capture!!!

Mia & John’s wedding had that wonderful blend of casual elegance that brought together beautiful details, a warm & inviting setting, and a ton fun! It was a perfect reflection of them as a couple too. Mia & John have known each other since their freshman year of high school when they sat next to one another in English class {so sweet!}. So it was not surprising to find a deep sense connection in them and in the family & friends that came together to celebrate their wedding day. The girls got ready at the beautiful Rosewood Sand Hill, and the guys got ready at John’s family home, which was transformed into their gorgeous wedding reception venue. Our Lady of the Wayside Church provided an intimate and sweet setting for their ceremony, and Mia & John rode from the ceremony to reception in a beautiful vintage car. So many lovely details & moments to photograph! Gorgeous floral design & event planning beautifully executed by Amanda Thorne, an incredible menu was created by Fork & Spoon, Pride & Joy rocked the reception and the dance floor was packed – it was a seriously good time! Noelle & Kevin are the kind of couple that love stories and love songs aspire to emulate: so sweet, so full of love, so right, so very meant to be. And they planned a wedding that perfectly reflected that love, their experiences together & their wonderful community of family & friends. Their wedding was truly a pleasure to capture, and incredibly inspiring.

They were married at the beautiful Valley Presbyterian Church, where Noelle had literally grown up. Her parents are both pastors at the church, and had been since she was two. Needless to say, there were may people who wanted to celebrate with Noelle & Kevin; it was standing room only during the ceremony! One of my favorite moments during the ceremony was the “laying on of hands.” The image of the entire congregation connecting to one another, to join in a blessing of Noelle & Kevin, was truly moving.

I also loved all of the personal touches that Noelle & Kevin brought to the reception, which was at the beautiful home of a family friend. Since Kevin had proposed to Noelle on their trip to Italy, they incorporated lots of Italian touches into the reception. The table were set up in a beautiful serpentine arrangement, perfect for a family style Italian dinner of hand-tossed pizzas, pastas and of course Italian wines! The place cards were actually designed as passports, and inside filled with Italian trivia questions. They were serenaded to “That’s Amore,” sung by Kevin’s best man and accompanied on mini-accordian by Kevin’s brother. Instead of cake, they sliced a cannoli for their dessert and served gelato as well. Mmmmm belissimo! Caterman did a lovely job of bringing this Italian feast together!

Oh, and did I mention that the passports, programs, bouquets and floral arrangements were all DIY?!! And they could not have been more perfect. You’ll have to peek at the slideshow and favorites below to see for yourself.

What a wonderful day – Kevin & Noelle, thank you SO much for inviting me to capture it!
