If you’ve been following my earlier blog posts, you’ll have seen Allison & Dustin’s maternity session! So you’ll know that I was thrilled to be able to meet little Miss Isabella!!! She was a sleepy girl when I met her, so we kept the session short and sweet. We were still able to capture some sweet moments with her parents, and oh those little teeny tiny fingers and toes! I love how she rested so happily on her momma’s chest, her little hand fitting just under her chin. She is a loved girl, and I can’t wait to see her grow!

I was so excited to capture this session for Allison & Dustin. I photographed their wedding at Trentadue winery in 2009, and to be capturing their maternity and newborn session with their first child is really what it’s all about for me! I love being able to see the progression of each story I capture. I don’t know if it’s like this for everyone, but I’m always a bit sad when I finish a great book. By the time the book ends, I have gotten to know the characters, laughed and cried and cheered with them, and I’m never really ready to say goodbye. The stories I capture during a wedding day, feel much the same to me. So I am always thrilled when I am able to capture other moments in the lives of my clients. One of the most beautiful moments of course, is the welcoming of a child into their lives. These two are all about love and family, and they just glowed with joy and anticipation throughout our session, which matched the lovely, glowing light in this magical spot in Marin. Tracy & Aaron may have one of the coolest engagement stories ever! Aaron proposed to Tracy on the very TOP of the Golden Gate Bridge!!! So when planning their wedding, they wanted to have a view of the Golden Gate. The St. Francis Yacht Club was the perfect location, and provided their guests with one of the most beautiful sunset views imaginable. Tracy & the girls got ready in a beautiful suite at the Ritz Carlton San Francisco, their wedding ceremony took place at the lovely St. Marks Church, and the wedding party rode to the reception in a San Francisco cable car! It was a quintessential, beautiful, classic & fun San Francisco wedding, and just full of the beautiful love these two have for one another & their family & friends.

One of my favorite moments of Jen & Evan’s engagement session was sitting on the green at the Olympic Club Golf Course, chatting & waiting for the sun to drop so we could capture some of that beautiful end-of-day light. Admittedly, it was windy and freezing and by the time we finished, I think we all had numb extremities! But even despite the weather challenges, I couldn’t help but enjoy getting to know them both better & to just sit and observe them together. Jen & Evan have a deep connection and clearly love being in each other’s company. They make my job easy!!! I can’t wait to capture their wedding day this Fall in San Francisco!

Just because it’s raining outside doesn’t mean there isn’t gorgeous light to shoot in! We just have to get a little creative to find it… and stay dry at the same time!

So when the weather last weekend predicted rain, I started checking out every possible indoor location in San Francisco for our sessions. But my requirements were lofty – I wanted lots of gorgeous natural light & lots of room to run around. I’m not a fan of flash & studio lights when photographing children & families. It can work in specific instances, but I find it can easily distract or impose a formal quality to the images – whereas we wanted fun atmosphere to encourage little personalities to shine. But finding a space that had natural light & space to play & that was available & that fit the budget was quite a feat! But the day before our sessions were scheduled, I found the perfect space!!! And the result? Beautiful, crisp & fun images- perfect for holiday cards & gifts! Check out some favorites from the day!

I’m getting ready to release 2010 dates for Mini-Sessions & just wanted to post a few examples from last year’s sessions at Golden Gate Park!

Aren’t those fun?!!! I love how, even with the shortened session, we’re able to capture the ever-elusive group family photo, along with the in-between moments that capture personality!

Mini-sessions are a great option for families who wish to take a shortened approach to a session with a lower overall investment, but still receive the beautiful results of custom photography. The sessions are quick, but you’d be surprised at how fun they can be! Mini-sessions are approximately 20-25 minutes long, scheduled every half hour, and typically result in 30-50 images for your review and selection. Image galleries are available 1 week after the session. Mini-session fees are $149/session. After your session, you may purchase high-resolution images, with full reprint rights to use for your favorite holiday card or gift. Each image ordered is provided in both color and black & white and sepia!
