I was so excited to capture this session for Allison & Dustin. I photographed their wedding at Trentadue winery in 2009, and to be capturing their maternity and newborn session with their first child is really what it’s all about for me! I love being able to see the progression of each story I capture. I don’t know if it’s like this for everyone, but I’m always a bit sad when I finish a great book. By the time the book ends, I have gotten to know the characters, laughed and cried and cheered with them, and I’m never really ready to say goodbye. The stories I capture during a wedding day, feel much the same to me. So I am always thrilled when I am able to capture other moments in the lives of my clients. One of the most beautiful moments of course, is the welcoming of a child into their lives. These two are all about love and family, and they just glowed with joy and anticipation throughout our session, which matched the lovely, glowing light in this magical spot in Marin. I was so lucky to meet Daylinda, Nick & Gabby last fall at one of my mini-sessions in San Francisco! Not only did they come via a referral from another favorite family, but they are also one of the sweetest, most loving families I’ve had the pleasure to photograph. They are the kind of family that makes couples want to have children & families add a few more of their own! Full of giggles and hugs and so much love. And now, they get to share the love with their newest addition, Miss Anna Malea!

Oh my goodness, she is so darn cute, I giggled and grinned the entire time I edited these images.

I so love being able to photograph babies-in-belly during our maternity sessions, and then be able to return to capture their brand-new arrival during the first month!  I had so much fun with Suzanne & Paul during their maternity session, and was so excited to hear of Madeleine’s arrival!  Here is miss Madeleine’s first photo shoot, just one week old!  She was already so alert and interested in everything going on around her.  We finally exhausted her at the very end of the session and we were able to capture a few sleepy newborn smiles – you know – the kind they give just as they are falling into a deeper sleep?  So beautiful!

You may remember my sweet family photography session with Charlie & his Mom & Dad this summer!  Well, Charlie is now a big brother!!!  It was SO fun to come and meet his beautiful baby sister Lily, and congratulate mom & dad!   Our session was also visited by Charlie’s grandma, and a crazy San Francisco heat wave!   And even though we were all  melting, we were able to capture some lovely images.

Wow.  I can’t believe how lucky I have been these past few months… so many lovely newborn & baby sessions!  I’d love to say that I’ve gotten my baby fix – believe me, my hubby would love that too – but oooooh, it’s only made me more determined in my campaigning for a #3 to add to our little teampg!  And who could feel differently after spending some QT with miss Mia?!  She is just lovely, lovely and you can already get a sense of her sweet nature.

Isn’t she just the sweetest?!!!  And anyone who has met her parents would not be surprised by this sweetness.  She is one lucky & loved little girl.  Her daddy is actually a hero in my family… he’s our family dentist!  Seriously, Isabella and Noah truly ADORE Dr. Hofmann & his staff.  Who knew getting your teeth cleaned could be so fun?  I have many times, and will continue to recommend Dr. Hofmann to anyone looking for a great dentist, with a responsive and really caring staff, & a great fit for the whole family!  The kids look forward to their appointments – I think that speaks for itself!

Mary, Brett, Mia & Moose ~ thank you so much for inviting me to capture this special time in your family!

Oh, photographing newborns is so lovely!  It passes soooooo quickly, this little brand-spankin-newness!  And it’s so incredibly sweet!

For our session with Clay, I brought Melissa (my wonderful editing assistant, babysitter and a budding associate photographer!) as a training session.  Newborns can be tricky to photograph, for many reasons, so it’s great to have the opportunity to pass along a few pointers to keep the session relaxed and help create some beautiful images!

I love this one that Melissa caught!  It’s such a great catch, because little Clay won’t fit that way for too long!
