How sweet are these two?!!

When I begin planning for a session with a toddler, I know I’ll need to be on my toes just to keep up with their explorations! So for my session with the H Family and their gorgeous twins, I was mentally prepared to get blissfully exhausted! In truth, it wasn’t work at all. I had so much fun getting to know this beautiful family. I loved how they all played together: so much love!!! And Andrew & Sarah just melted my heart!

I am SO looking forward to Melissa & Matt’s wedding this coming New Year’s Eve… for so many reasons!!! First of all, well, I think you only have to look at some of the favorites below to see the evidence of their sweetness. Seriously, Melissa has the kind of smile that I think must make everyone she meets want to be friends with her. Or maybe it’s just that Matt brings it out in her?! Either way, it’s lovely and infectious, and I can’t wait to capture more of these two beaming at each other on their wedding day! And to add to my long list of reasons to look forward to their wedding, they are a part of a long list of referrals through friends, relatives and degrees of separation that comprise a lovely group of people that I’ve had the lucky pleasure of photographing! I photographed the wedding of Melissa’s brother, her good friend, her brother’s friend, and soon, her brother’s wife’s cousin! Phew!!! Wonderful people surround themselves with wonderful people. So, in short (or maybe not so short), I’m very excited for their weddding!

If you’ve been following my earlier blog posts, you’ll have seen Allison & Dustin’s maternity session! So you’ll know that I was thrilled to be able to meet little Miss Isabella!!! She was a sleepy girl when I met her, so we kept the session short and sweet. We were still able to capture some sweet moments with her parents, and oh those little teeny tiny fingers and toes! I love how she rested so happily on her momma’s chest, her little hand fitting just under her chin. She is a loved girl, and I can’t wait to see her grow!

I so enjoyed my first meeting with Dana & Bassel, and I immediately knew that I would love photographing their wedding! Dana is so vibrant & full of life, and Bassel is thoughtful & kind, and it’s clear when spending time with them, that they are a perfect balance for one another. Capturing them together is just a pleasure, and I love how they arranged their wedding day so that they had both a first look, followed by a generous amount of time for photos of the two of them together. With Dana’s help and ideas, I had scouted out photo locations the week before, and we had so much fun hopping into a huge suburban and touring through St. Helena and Yountville to beautiful spots for photos. The wedding day goes so quickly, and I often suggest that couples make some time for a sunset walk, just so they get a little additional alone time together to take in the day and celebrate their new marriage. What I loved about Dana & Bassel’s wedding was that because they had carved out time for photos in the earlier part of their schedule, they not only got some great photos, but they spent a lot of their wedding day together! And we still had a beautiful sunset walk!

Meadowood is such a gorgeous location, and Pat Friday’s floral designs were stunningly beautiful. Better still, we had so much fun working with Justin Fone Productions! They are such a great team; professional, genuine and kind as well as extremely talented, it’s clear they really bring out the best in their clients. I was so excited to capture this session for Allison & Dustin. I photographed their wedding at Trentadue winery in 2009, and to be capturing their maternity and newborn session with their first child is really what it’s all about for me! I love being able to see the progression of each story I capture. I don’t know if it’s like this for everyone, but I’m always a bit sad when I finish a great book. By the time the book ends, I have gotten to know the characters, laughed and cried and cheered with them, and I’m never really ready to say goodbye. The stories I capture during a wedding day, feel much the same to me. So I am always thrilled when I am able to capture other moments in the lives of my clients. One of the most beautiful moments of course, is the welcoming of a child into their lives. These two are all about love and family, and they just glowed with joy and anticipation throughout our session, which matched the lovely, glowing light in this magical spot in Marin. I am so happy that I met this family right after we moved to Napa! Not only is Dave our family’s chiropractor, but I love photographing their sweet family! Max is such an awesome little guy. I love the twinkle he always has in his eyes! He’s full of love and laughter, and you can tell he has a sweet & beautiful connection with his Mom & Dad. It’s really a pleasure to capture. Valerie & Aaron are getting married this Fall in Hawaii! SO it only makes sense that they needed another gorgeous location for their engagement session. Once again, Napa delivers! Let’s just say my scouting trips paid off when I found this gorgeous lavender field!

I had such a fun time getting to know and photograph these two. They are sweet, caring and incredibly understanding! Even after a crazy false start to the session. Who knew my back-up film camera would come in so handy! When all else fails, analog delivers.

Summer has finally arrived!!! And with it the gorgeous blooms and soft light at the end of the day! Dana & Bassel could not have picked a more beautiful location for their engagement session, for a lush garden feel! I so enjoyed spending time with these two! Dana is incredibly full of energy and beauty and vitality, and Bassel not only adores her (so sweet!), he is her perfect balance. Kathryn & Sil’s engagement session was so much fun, it makes me a little sad that their wedding is not until June 2012!!! SO long to wait to photograph this adorable couple again! They are getting married at St. Mary’s College, followed by a reception at Round Hill Country Club next June, and I am thrilled to be capturing their wedding day!

Kathryn & Sil actually met for the first time at a wedding I was photographing back in 2007, which makes it very special to be a part of their wedding as well! For their sweet session, we started at a favorite winery of theirs in Napa, then headed to Yountville to capture some of the gorgeous end of day light.

Not only are these two incredibly warm and bursting with love for one another, but they BOTH have the prettiest green eyes you’ll ever see! Seriously.
