Rachel & Randy ~ Engagement Session, Bernal Heights

In preparation for their wedding this month at The Headlands Center for the Arts in Marin, I met Rachel & Randy at their home for their engagement session.  We originally had plans to start in Bernal Heights and head out to some other spots in the city, but as will often happen, we kept finding great places to shoot wherever we went… and in the end, never left their cozy neighborhood.

First of all, they have recently adopted the most lovable greyhound I’ve ever met, named DQ.  DQ was really shy, around me, around the camera… but before we finished catching up and heading out of the apartment for some shooting, DQ had started to both warm up to me and the camera.  I love some of the shots we captured… DQ ended up being quite the ham!  Check out this fave!

Not only are Rachel and Randy great new pet parents, but they are one of the most genuine and sweet couples I’ve ever photographed.  Spending time with them, I was so moved by the deep sense of respect and adoration have for one another.  Rachel’s smile is so beautiful when she is looking at Randy, and Randy looks so happy to hold Rachel in his arms.  I love how easily they both laugh, and how comfortable they are together.  I had such a good time getting to know them both & I am so, so excited to photograph their wedding day!
