Faye + Adam | Headlands Center for the Arts | Sausalito Wedding Photographer

I’m so excited to share Faye & Adam’s beautiful wedding day at the Headlands Center of the Arts in Sausalito.  It’s full of all of my favorite ingredients in a wedding:  a couple full of the sweetest love and tenderness for one another, incredible friends and family that cheered and joyfully cried right along with them, an incredible venue that exudes community and beauty, personal touches woven in to include beloved family members, gorgeous floral design delicately interspersed with whimsy, a menu full of heartwarming, nourishing goodness, heartfelt music made and played by friends and family, some of the most adorable & heartbreakingly sweet kiddos I’ve seen at a wedding ever, and just great people all around!!!  I loved that theirs was my first wedding of the season too – I’m counting on it being a harbinger for more wonderful and inspiring moments to capture in 2013!

But don’t take my word for it, take a peek at some of my favorites from their beautiful day below, or view even more in their slideshow!

Alexandra + Brandon | Mark Hopkins Hotel | San Francisco Wedding Photography

I know I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating:  I love working with referrals!!!  I call it the “awesome-ness guarantee”!  Good peeps know good peeps.  Alix & Brandon were referred by their friends Ilana & Aaron, and both couples were wonderful to work with and their weddings were lovely to capture!  Alix & Brandon decided on a San Francisco wedding, at the beautiful Mark Hopkins Hotel.  Their wedding was the same week as Fleet Week, and it was incredibly fun to see the planes buzz by the hotel as the girls were getting ready.  Their suite had an incredible view of the entire Bay, and the day was gorgeous and clear.  I loved the images we captured of their first look, and of course, having some Naval officers drop in for photos made the wedding party portraits at the Palace of Fine Arts so much fun!

After a beautiful traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony, everyone headed back to a Mark Hopkins for their super fun reception.  I loved that Alix & Brandon and their wedding party got everyone on the dance floor as part of their being announced.  It set a fun & festive tone to the night, that carried on through some traditional Greek dancing & of maybe some fun ouzo shots!  Opa!!!

Here are just a few favorites from the day, or view their full slideshow here.

And baby makes three… boys!!! | Sonoma Newborn Photography

For me, capturing a newborn session is one of the sweetest times in a family.  Observing the way they are all getting to know this little person, and adjusting their lives, and spaces, and of course their sleep, to accommodate the newest member of their family.  Such. huge. love.

My heart always goes out to these new little people, who are incredibly dependent on their family comprehending, understanding and deciphering their needs, when they have so very few ways of communicating them!  But for me, my heart nears bursting when I watch a family come together to comfort and care for a newborn.  And this session had to be one of the sweetest examples of that.

Ronan was of course being a newborn and just trying to find a comfortable way to feel settled during the session.  Take a peek at how his parents and big brothers all took turns at making him more comfortable. So. incredibly. sweet.  I’m sure that having a house full of boys will at times be a handful to manage, but I got a glimpse into what having 2 big brothers around to look out for you will look like.  And it’s pretty darn beautiful.

Sweet little baby whisperers…

Thank you Jenna & Tom for inviting me to capture this sweet time and your beautiful family!

Liana + Jason | Trentadue Winery Wedding | Geyserville Wedding Photography

I do a special little happy dance when a couple planning a wedding at Trentadue Winery hires me, because I know the wedding will be beautiful, and we will have lots of opportunities for gorgeous images. Liana & Jason’s wedding was no exception.  I loved the soft color palette Liana assembled of white, graphite and aubergine that inspired the details of the day, but also complimented the venue so perfectly.

That all said, my favorite part about Liana & Jason’s wedding day was the way the day truly reflected them and their lovely, generous hearts.  From their personalized ceremony (some truly awesome song choices & readings!), to the way their love of family had them including all of their nieces and nephews in the wedding party, to the cake topper of their dog (who would be too nervous to participate in the wedding day), to the way they slowed down when they greeted every guest to exchange a heartfelt hug and really be present, to the incredible way they looked at each other and laughed together, and to their rockin’ dance moves!  Their love was inspiring to capture, and I smiled all day long and then all over again when I was editing their images.  Here are just a few favorites, or watch their slideshow for more!

A huge thanks to all the vendors who helped this special wedding come together!
