W Family | Palo Alto Family Photographer | Palo Alto Portrait Photographer

Kim + Ryan | Solage Calistoga Resort | Calistoga Wedding Photographer

I immediately knew when speaking to Kim that I was going to love photographing her wedding!  I loved the way that she and Ryan wanted the day to flow, paced evenly and giving themselves time to enjoy their friends and family, and their celebration.  They infused their wedding day with all their favorite things, including many of their favorite foods and drinks into their menu as well as a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream wedding cake!  Ryan is from Vermont so they included some of his favorite cheddar cheese along with Magic Hat, his favorite beer from home.  One of the cutest ideas for table names that I’ve ever seen, they named them after all their favorite things to do together!  I laughed out loud when I read: Whole Foods Cheese Aisle.  Other favorites were: Grilling With Friends, Trying New Restaurants, Playing with Dogs and of course Sneaking Ben & Jerry’s!

It was a beautiful & fun day, enjoyed by everyone.  Here are a few favorites, or take a peek at their slideshow for more!

Caitlin + Timothy | Villa Montalvo | Saratoga Wedding Photographer

Caitlin & Timm’s wedding was one of those weddings where I wished I could be two people:  just as I was, the lucky photographer capturing all the love and beauty of their day and then also a guest!!!   These two were incredibly thoughtful about how they put together their wedding day experience for their friends and family.  From the personal notes that they wrote on the back of each guest’s escort card, to the handmade favors from the remnants of the wedding quilt Caitlin’s mother made, to a family style dinner served on the beautiful veranda of Villa Montalvo, to providing a both hometown brews from Michigan and sangria made from Caitlin’s family vineyard, to the heirloom blueberry pie recipe from Timm’s grandmother that graced the dessert table, these two had their guests experience in the forefront of their planning, and they made it truly special with all of their personal touches.

As Elisheva, wedding planner and designer extraordinaire described, they wanted to create a “homespun luxe-backyard picnic” feel to the event.  I think they succeeded!!!  Their guests had a great time, thoroughly enjoying themselves.  It was a wonderful event to photograph, and Caitlin & Timm’s sweet love for each other and their family and friends was inspiring.  Here are some favorites from the day, or check out more in their slideshow!
