Meet Liam ~ Maternity & Newborn Photography Session

Since the fall, I’ve begun offering a complimentary newborn session with all of my maternity sessions.  And I do it for both selfish and generous reasons!   For selfish reasons, because I’m so excited to see meet this little person too – after photographing momma’s beautiful belly & getting to know this little person’s future family!  And generously, because as a parent of two – even as a photographer – I have precious few pictures of my 2 children in the first month of life.  Those first few weeks, okay months… are just such a blur!  If you are a parent, you remember well.  Or you probably don’t!  Well, the thought of calling a photographer to capture this amazing newness and beginning of life, while in the midst of trying to adjust to that exact same newness, is really quite a disconnect.  I find that including it with the maternity session, means that everyone benefits!  I often even tell parents to call me from the hospital so we can find a date in the first few weeks of baby’s life.

But I digress… I was trying to introduce Liam!  Kelley called me this fall to plan both her maternity and newborn session.  Her home in San Francisco is full of beautiful light and it was incredibly fun to capture the tender love and anticipation of her pregnancy with Liam and his arrival a month later!  Look at how much they adore each other!  Liam was just 9 days old when I photographed him, not due to smile for another 5 weeks or so, but I swear I caught him smiling at momma.  They both look so blissful!  Enjoy some favorite images.  Or view Liam’s slideshow here.
