I love these fun shots Gustavo captured of the guys at Mira Vista!

This may be one of my most favorite ceremony shots of all time. I think it’s because of the peaceful smile Kristen has at this moment - so beautiful.

I grin from ear to ear when I look at this image. So sweet.

The Mira Vista was such a warm, romantic, yet elegant location for the wedding. I think these two images show it off beautifully.

Kristen & Sean selected so many wonderful vendors to create their beautiful wedding. It was an honor to be a part of such a stellar team! This was the first time I have worked with Elisheva Basseri of A Bride’s Best Friend, and I just loved her calm, reassuring and graceful presence. The visual elements of the day were just beautiful - everyone did such a fantastic job!

Napa Newborn Photography | Hello Nico! | San Francisco Baby Photographer

So much fun to shoot in my new home town!

I’ve been photographing babies all over the Bay Area since 2002, but mostly in San Francisco, the East Bay and of course, down the Peninsula. Which was where we called home until this past summer, when we moved to beautiful Napa!

To be honest, we were SO busy this past summer & fall, just keeping up with the beautiful weddings and returning family sessions, that I resisted any urge to build a new client base in Napa. Things have finally calmed down now, and I was just so excited to meet Jen & little Nico for a lovely local shoot! And the 7 minute commute to and from their session… well, let’s just say it was quite blissful! I’m thinking I could get used to that!

Here are a few quick faves from the session. For more from the session, view their slideshow!

First a few beautiful, classic images. Although not used for the whole session, and definitely not past the 1st birthday, I find the classic black background still offers a beautiful canvas to capture the gorgeous skin and teeny shape of infants.

I love capturing shots with mom and knowing that years from now, she’ll marvel at this perspective of her baby, so small and tiny in her arms. And have you ever seen a more perfectly shaped little baby head? So sweet!

Then a few faves bathed in natural window light. I love the way Nico’s bottom lip made a perfect little bow as he drifted off to sleep.

Being a beautiful baby, is definitely hard work - we tuckered little Nico out!

Headlands Center for the Arts Wedding Photography | R + R | Wedding Album Design

When Rachel & Randy got married at the Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito last year, I remember how excited I was to immediately get to work on editing their images. I couldn’t wait to peek through them all, and I’ve been dying to put together an album of the day. And now here it is!

There were so many inspiring moments throughout the day. Not to mention a deer gracing our path as we took Rachel & Randy out for a few quick magic hour shots! The love these two have for one another, the setting at the Headlands Center for the Arts, the fun that surrounded them with their friends and family… it was really quite magical.

The gorgeous floral design at this wedding was created by Loop. And the catering provided by Katie Powers Catering was seriously wonderful! I think of myself as quite a foodie, but the quality of the vendor meal at a wedding I’m shooting is definitely the last thing on my mind. It’s a highly-focused day, and we just need a bit of protein and lots of water to recharge and get back to capturing gorgeous images. But every once in awhile, we are treated to the incredible talent and artistry of our peers. This was one of those days - a full plate in every sensory department!

San Francisco Maternity Photography | More Jules, Francesca & Tim | Maternity Portraits

I had to post one of my very favorites from this session over the weekend, but here are some more from a wonderful maternity portrait session with Francesca, Tim & big brother Jules!

Wow - I love, love, love photographing these guys! I had the pleasure of photographing Francesca & Tim the day before Jules was born, then paid them a visit in the hospital on day 2 to capture some newborn pictures! Since then, I’ve gotten to capture Jules six month pictures, a fun 2 year old mini-session, an extended family session with Francesca’s parents and siblings, and now their #2! It’s an incredible feeling to be invited to continue to capture families as they grow. I feel so, so honored.

This image is one of my favorites of the year…

… I know I’m probably not supposed to say that, it’s kind of like a parent saying they have a favorite child. And when I really think about it, I do have lots of favorite images from the past year. But I love how this image makes me feel the connection of life and love and siblings and family and the sheer enormity and tenderness of it all. I love how photography can create that kind of powerfully moving moment.

I love when I’m editing images and suddenly can’t help but laugh out loud. I love that when I’m spending time with families, they begin to relax and just enjoy being together. This was one of those perfect silly moments, and I felt very lucky to be able to capture it!

There are so many pics from this lovely session to share, as it was the full family affair: grandparents, two twin brothers, their beautiful wives and gorgeous kiddos. We shot at two beautiful wineries in the Napa Valley, Nickel & Nickel and Peju. I was blown away by the photo opportunities & can’t wait to shoot there again!

Olympic Club Wedding Photography | Katie + John | San Francisco Wedding Photographer

Seriously, sometimes I can’t really believe how lucky I am. I have an amazing job. And the very best clients. Each year, as the last wedding of the season approaches, I’m a bit sad to see the season end, and at the same time excited for the families I shoot every holiday season, and the next upcoming season of weddings and babies. But seriously, who doesn’t like to go out with a bang? And Katie & John’s wedding was a perfect ending to a really beautiful and blessed wedding season!

It was a perfect San Francisco fall day — that “just right” temperature, clear skies and beautiful fall colors highlighted in the foliage. You honestly couldn’t have ordered a better day. And since Katie had a lot of family making the trek from the East Coast (including the pastor Katie grew up with who flew all the way out from Baltimore to officiate Katie & John’s wedding), that perfect weather felt just like a gift.

I love the warm, rich & vibrant color that Katie brought into the wedding decor, from the invitations to the beautiful bridesmaid’s dresses to the gorgeous floral design by John James. In fact, Katie & John’s wedding was a testament to great wedding vendors all around. Check out the list of wonderful resources at the end of this post.
