I love that Melissa & Matt got married on New Year’s Eve! I adore Style Me Pretty for all things wedding! SO much so, I have to limit my time during each visit, or I’ll suddenly find hours have passed without my noticing!!!

So it’s such a pleasure to see Katie & Lee’s wedding featured this week on their Little Black Book blog! Artfully planned by Amy Nichols Special Events, with an iconic, San Francisco-inspired theme, Katie & Lee’s wedding was absolutely stunning with gorgeous contributions from each of their vendors. I still can’t get over the invitation & print designs by Design des Troy & florals by Soulflower Floral Design – just beautiful! There are so many things that jumped out at me while I was editing Katie & Lee’s images. But the first image below, probably sums it up for me. Such joy and love on their wedding day – who could resist a smile looking at that image?

Other parts that I loved about Katie & Lee’s wedding?

The jaw-droppingly gorgeous locations – it felt like a gift to be attending a wedding at the San Francisco Ferry Building – an amazing piece of beauty & history! Katie’s customized wedding dress hanger! The beautiful blues & greens carried throughout the wedding. The amazing graphic design that iconized the San Francisco elements on all of their printed materials from the save the date & to table names & escort cards at the reception. The elegant effect of all white bouquets the bridesmaids carried. The gorgeous bouquet Katie carried of all the combined white blooms. I loved that the guests were all transported from hotel, to the church to the reception in a classic cable cars. The fierce love their family and friends clearly felt for these two – I loved Katie’s sister’s speech & the best man’s speech about Lee’s fighting skills as a teenager – seriously funny! Tainted Love – these folks seriously rocked it!

It was a wedding that even in it’s incredible beauty, invited you to share the moment. We went a little crazy taking pictures I have to admit – so many beautiful moments to capture! Here are just a few favorites from the day or view their slideshow for more!

I have SO loved working on Jen & Jesse’s images! First of all, they are the nicest, sweetest people to be around. LOVE that – it makes my job so easy!!! On top of that, the love they have for each other was the stuff of inspiration and it made it SO fun to photograph their day. SO many sweet moments and inspiration everywhere. Then you add into the mix that Trentadue is one of my most favorite locations for a wedding. From a photographic standpoint, the light is perfect and there are so many beautiful spots on the grounds to capture in images, it’s almost unreal.

Jen & Jesse also added a ton of personal touches to their decor and planning. I LOVED the purple color palette – the vibrancy was a perfect compliment to the greenery of the location. I loved how each of the bridesmaids had each selected a fabulous necklace to accent their dress, and Jen had 2 necklaces!!! She switched from a pretty, delicate necklace for the ceremony to another gorgeous piece for the reception. Other fun elements were the Table Card Trivia & Madlibs-like Marriage Advice at each table. It was fun to watch their guests filling these out as they were seated. Then who could forget the choreographed dance by the bridesmaids, followed by an equally awesome groomsmen dance!!! But perhaps my favorite detail was the mini-mini-checkered-Vans on Jen’s little nephew – too cute! And I adored the flower girl and ring bearer – such gorgeous sweet little faces!!! So much eye candy, you’ll understand if I had a hard time narrowing down the images to share. Here are just a few faves! And more of course in the slideshow – enjoy!

You may remember Natasha & Ryan from their lovely wildflower engagement session this past Spring, but their story is so sweet, it should be retold! Natasha & Ryan met when they were just tweens, when Natasha was watching her sister’s softball game. They played together to pass the time during the games, and Ryan would later tell his mother that he knew then that he was going to marry Natasha! Sigh. Fast forward over a decade later, and here they are!!! Such a sweet love story! And even more fun was how the families were already so close and excited to celebrate together.

We started at St. Lucy’s in Campbell for a beautiful ceremony, followed by parent & wedding party photos on the gorgeous grounds at Santa Clara University, and then to the beautiful vintage ballroom at the Corinthian in San Jose. Here are some favorites from the day, or view their slideshow here!

I so enjoyed my first meeting with Dana & Bassel, and I immediately knew that I would love photographing their wedding! Dana is so vibrant & full of life, and Bassel is thoughtful & kind, and it’s clear when spending time with them, that they are a perfect balance for one another. Capturing them together is just a pleasure, and I love how they arranged their wedding day so that they had both a first look, followed by a generous amount of time for photos of the two of them together. With Dana’s help and ideas, I had scouted out photo locations the week before, and we had so much fun hopping into a huge suburban and touring through St. Helena and Yountville to beautiful spots for photos. The wedding day goes so quickly, and I often suggest that couples make some time for a sunset walk, just so they get a little additional alone time together to take in the day and celebrate their new marriage. What I loved about Dana & Bassel’s wedding was that because they had carved out time for photos in the earlier part of their schedule, they not only got some great photos, but they spent a lot of their wedding day together! And we still had a beautiful sunset walk!

Meadowood is such a gorgeous location, and Pat Friday’s floral designs were stunningly beautiful. Better still, we had so much fun working with Justin Fone Productions! They are such a great team; professional, genuine and kind as well as extremely talented, it’s clear they really bring out the best in their clients. I was so excited & honored when Davey called to ask if I would help he and Elisha capture their wedding day! I’ve always said that as the photographer, I have the best seat in the house on a wedding day. And having that spot on the day of my big brother’s wedding was incredibly meaningful. These two are both such amazing people, and they are so beautifully matched to one another. From the very first time that Davey spoke of Elisha, I knew he had found “the one,” his one. Such a gift! And it was wonderful to be there to both celebrate with them, and to help them capture such an incredible day.

Elisha & David created an elegant, Old Hollywood themed event for their wedding day. Held at the beautiful Castle Green in Old Town Pasadena, the setting was lush and romantic with just the right hint of glamour. The ceremony took place outdoors in the beautiful garden, while for the reception, the guests headed inside to a beautifully set ballroom, complete with table numbers of Old Hollywood movie stars. Each table had vintage framed images of stars from Lucille Ball to Judy Garland to Jimmy Stewart and Frank Sinatra, along with interesting pieces of trivia about each star. The vintage setting was a perfect compliment to the black tie worn by the gents, while Elisha’s stunning dress (a beautiful mermaid design with an incredible lace overlay) mixed both elegance and romance to perfection! I loved the soft pinks, peaches, creams and delicate greens in the girls dresses and bouquets (all created by the bride, mother & maid of honor!), and the gold accents throughout the decor were a perfect finishing touch.

Some of my very favorite moments during the day… Watching Davey’s expression as Elisha walked down the aisle. So beautiful. During the ceremony when their friend Wil sang Train’s “Marry Me” (sooooo beautifully!) and during the song’s chorus, seeing each of the married groomsmen look out into the crowd for their wives, and finding them with the sweetest smile. Davey and Elisha’s AMAZING first dance when they broke out into a Michael Jackson song 1/2 way through and started joyfully grooving out, seriously the crowd went wild – and then Davey grabbed Elisha around the waist and just started spinning her around, her dress flying behind her. And the look on his face; he looked like the happiest kid you’ve ever seen! I love how Elisha brings that out in him, and really, how that they bring that out in each other! Erin & Adam were married at the beautiful Piedmont Community Hall, under a redwood grove. The setting was just breathtaking. And the way these two looked at one another throughout the ceremony just gave me goosebumps! So much love!!! They were also blessed with little sprinkles of rain during the ceremony, that eventually became enough to create a change in plans for the outdoor reception. Not everyone’s favorite change of plans, but what made it wonderful was how little it mattered to everyone. The family & friends that came to celebrate Erin & Adam’s wedding, truly came to celebrate these two joining together and to just plain celebrate!!! And not only that, but they even helped set up when the 30+ table umbrellas arrived to ease the transition of moving the set-up into the hall. I remember realizing at my own wedding how the people that were there to share the day with us were truly part of our extended home and community. I remember how good it felt. And at their wedding, I couldn’t help thinking of how lucky Erin & Adam are to have this wonderful community to surround and celebrate with them. Even if there hadn’t been a rainbow (and there was!!!), there was no denying it was a magical night. Oh, and the arrival of the Cupkate Truck of course helped extend that feeling. Who can deny the magic of a salted carmel chocolate cupcake?!!
