I loved this session with Stephanie & Steve! I loved that they are getting married at the beach but wanted to incorporate the beautiful Napa Valley into their engagement session. I loved how much they laugh together. I loved how easy it is to be with them & how fun they are to photograph! I loved their sweet dogs who loved them so much they couldn’t stand when we took pictures without them! I loved the beautiful locations we got to be in for the session: in St. Helena at the beautiful Harvest Inn and in Yountville at one of the best spots for gorgeous Fall colors.

Each time I head to Stanford University for a session, I’m awed by how beautiful it is and how many different but gorgeous little spots there are to photograph. Victoria grew up right next to Stanford, and they both attended graduate school there. And they introduced me to yet even more lovely locations! How sweet are these two?!!

For Caitlin & Timm’s engagement session, we met at the home where she grew up in Portola Valley, and where they both still spend time with her family. It’s clear that there is a lot of love in this home, and it’s a beautiful, peaceful space. A perfect place for their session. I am SO looking forward to Melissa & Matt’s wedding this coming New Year’s Eve… for so many reasons!!! First of all, well, I think you only have to look at some of the favorites below to see the evidence of their sweetness. Seriously, Melissa has the kind of smile that I think must make everyone she meets want to be friends with her. Or maybe it’s just that Matt brings it out in her?! Either way, it’s lovely and infectious, and I can’t wait to capture more of these two beaming at each other on their wedding day! And to add to my long list of reasons to look forward to their wedding, they are a part of a long list of referrals through friends, relatives and degrees of separation that comprise a lovely group of people that I’ve had the lucky pleasure of photographing! I photographed the wedding of Melissa’s brother, her good friend, her brother’s friend, and soon, her brother’s wife’s cousin! Phew!!! Wonderful people surround themselves with wonderful people. So, in short (or maybe not so short), I’m very excited for their weddding!

Valerie & Aaron are getting married this Fall in Hawaii! SO it only makes sense that they needed another gorgeous location for their engagement session. Once again, Napa delivers! Let’s just say my scouting trips paid off when I found this gorgeous lavender field!

I had such a fun time getting to know and photograph these two. They are sweet, caring and incredibly understanding! Even after a crazy false start to the session. Who knew my back-up film camera would come in so handy! When all else fails, analog delivers.

Summer has finally arrived!!! And with it the gorgeous blooms and soft light at the end of the day! Dana & Bassel could not have picked a more beautiful location for their engagement session, for a lush garden feel! I so enjoyed spending time with these two! Dana is incredibly full of energy and beauty and vitality, and Bassel not only adores her (so sweet!), he is her perfect balance. Kathryn & Sil’s engagement session was so much fun, it makes me a little sad that their wedding is not until June 2012!!! SO long to wait to photograph this adorable couple again! They are getting married at St. Mary’s College, followed by a reception at Round Hill Country Club next June, and I am thrilled to be capturing their wedding day!

Kathryn & Sil actually met for the first time at a wedding I was photographing back in 2007, which makes it very special to be a part of their wedding as well! For their sweet session, we started at a favorite winery of theirs in Napa, then headed to Yountville to capture some of the gorgeous end of day light.

Not only are these two incredibly warm and bursting with love for one another, but they BOTH have the prettiest green eyes you’ll ever see! Seriously. One of my favorite moments of Jen & Evan’s engagement session was sitting on the green at the Olympic Club Golf Course, chatting & waiting for the sun to drop so we could capture some of that beautiful end-of-day light. Admittedly, it was windy and freezing and by the time we finished, I think we all had numb extremities! But even despite the weather challenges, I couldn’t help but enjoy getting to know them both better & to just sit and observe them together. Jen & Evan have a deep connection and clearly love being in each other’s company. They make my job easy!!! I can’t wait to capture their wedding day this Fall in San Francisco!

Wildflowers!!! One of the things I love about living in Napa/Sonoma are the constantly changing visual landscapes. Just gorgeous. Yet as soon as you fall in love with one element, it evolves into another. As a photographer, the challenge is to capture some of the favorite parts of each season during the fleeting moments that they appear. One of my favorite parts about the end of the rainy season, is the explosion of wildflowers and with all the rain we had, this year was incredible! I was so excited when Natasha & Ryan decided to come up to Napa for their session, so we could take advantage of this lovely backdrop for their sweet love! I love that they wanted to it up a bit for their engagement session, as we’ll be in the South Bay for their wedding at the lovely Corinthian Grand Ballroom in San Jose.
