Alex’s Rockin’ Bar Mitzvah ~ Temple Beth El & Foster City Community Center

What a fun day!  Full of fun surprises… like gorgeous weather in January and some of the best 13 year-old dancers I have ever encountered… including the guys!!!  Seriously, maybe things have changed since I was in my teens, but in my day, the guys NEVER danced!  And they certainly weren’t good at if they did!!!  But perhaps more than the times having changed, I think, like so many things in life, family makes all the difference.  And this family can shake it – regardless of generation or gender!!!  I think I left with a perma-grin ache on my face – so much fun to photograph!

You’ll have to watch the slideshow to see all the fun or head over to view the full set of images, but here are a few quick faves from the day:

First some of the tender moments at Peninsula Temple Beth El between mom & son & grandma too:

And the festivities that followed over at Foster City Community Center – starting off with the Hora!

I loved shooting in the beautiful natural light that pours into the Foster City Community Center – so great for clean, bright images!

Okay, just a quick camera nerd moment – check out the dynamic range on these backlit pics outside!  Gotta love the new Canon 5D Mark II!!!

Congratulations Alex!  Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your awesome day!
